Off-Campus Swimming and Football Classes
The International School of Choueifat-Suleimaniah is offering an enhanced Physical Education program this year. The school is scheduling off-campus swimming and football lessons. With these off-campus lessons combined with the regular P.E. lessons offered, ISC-Suleimaniah aims to foster the development of young students’ physical and technical skills with emphasis on enjoyment, sportsmanship, and team spirit.
Off-Campus Swimming and Football Classes:
On a rotational schedule, with one week for swimming classes and the next week for football classes, the students in grades 3 through 6 are transported by school bus to “Today” swimming pool and “Chiya Football” pitches. For swimming class, the students are accompanied on the bus by the school’s P.E. instructor and received at the swimming pool by a professional swimming coach, who spends an hour and a half with the students. Each lesson is comprised of warm up exercises, swimming instruction, and, of course, freestyle swimming. During football class, the school’s P.E. instructor trains the students on various tactical and athletic exercises that aim to improve their strategic and competitive skills. All these P.E. activities contribute to healthy mental and physical development of students, which in turn, lend support to their academic performance.
Various sporting tournaments for the different age levels of the students are organized with our sister school, ISC-Erbil, and other schools each year.
