ISC-Suleimaniah Students Explore Local Pizzeria
On Saturday, February 27, 2010, the SABIS Student Life Organization® at the International School of Choueifat-Suleimaniah organized a field trip to a local pizzeria for eighty students in grades 1-4.
As part of the trip, students were given a tour of the local pizza eatery, Pizza Plus. “The purpose was to offer students a glimpse of how one of their favorite foods is made, while providing activities to forge stronger bonds with their fellow classmates,” stated the Student Life Coordinator at ISC-Suleimaniah.
Paired with a partner chosen at random, students learned about the history of pizza, witnessed the pizza-making process, and shared a pizza together. “This event was not only a learning experience for the students, but also a social behavioral activity where they learned to share and socialize with another student who they are not normally friends with in school,” added the Student Life Coordinator.
A key part of the SABIS® Educational System, the Student Life Organization fosters self-development, teamwork, and the exploration of a wide range of interests. Having demonstrated that they have a broad range of abilities and experiences and that they can be effective and valuable team players, students become viable candidates at top universities around the world.
ISC-Suleimaniah is one of two private schools managed by SABIS® in Kurdistan. The school contributes to raising the standard of education and rebuilding the nation by providing a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and experiences.
